Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, all libraries, the mobile library service, the Education and Early Years Library Service and Information Service sites are now closed and non-operational. This includes reserving books online. Library members who have books or other materials on loan should keep them at home. They can be renewed as many times as needed online, but all overdue charges will be waived during this time.
The libraries team are currently looking at how it can support the most vulnerable customers. Cornwall Library members can access a wealth of online reading, eBooks, Audiobooks, newspapers and magazines, comics and eGraphic novels using the online library

Please read the following information about the service that we will continue to offer.
Renewals and returns
Library members who have books or other materials on loan should keep them at home. They can be renewed as many times as needed online, but all overdue charges will be waived during this time. Please do not try to post them through letter boxes or leave them outside libraries.
Online services
Whilst our libraries are closed, you can always use our digital library.
E-magazines and E-newspapers
With your library card you can access thousands of free magazines and newspapers, including today’s editions of newspapers such as The Guardian, Daily Mail, Telegraph, and Mirror, via our PressReader App.
You will need your library card number to use this service.
E-books and E-audiobooks
Access thousands of free e-books and e-audiobooks from home via Borrowbox.
You will need your library card number to use this service.
Research your family history with Find My Past
The family history website Find My Past is usually only accessible from Library computers. In light of the current circumstances, Findmypast would like to provide remote access to your library subscription via username and password.
If you wish to access FindMyPast from home please contact: libraries@cornwall.gov.uk and we will provide you with the log-in details.
Some things to be aware of:
Users will not be able to log into their personal Findmypast account to use the library subscription as they normally would via IP address recognition whilst in the library premises.
E-Magazines and Comics/Graphic Novels
A further selection of e-magazines including Hello, New Scientist, The Economist, and the Radio Times, as well as access to 1500 comics and graphic novels can be found by using RBdigital.

From online access to Encyclopaedia Britannica, The Oxford English Dictionary and old editions of The Times newspaper, to practising for your Driving Theory Test. You will be amazed what you can access from home with your Cornwall library card.

If you or someone you know would like to use these services, but is not a member of the library, they can join online and we will email their library card number.
