A huge thank you to all those who came to our Annual Council Meeting & Mayor Choosing Ceremony at the Hayle Day Care Centre last night.

It was fantastic to see representatives from neighbouring towns and parishes, residents and members of community groups, as well as the winners of the Mayor's Awards 2026:

* Ellowyn Stephens, Young Person of the Year
* Angela Berry, Citizen of the Year
* Hayle Cricket Club, Organisation of the Year

The Mayor's Cadet for 2026 is Sergeant Nathan Barr, and his certificate was collected by Flight Lieutenant Simon Jose, 1900 (West Cornwall) Squadron.

We'd like to extend congratulations to our Mayor, Councillor Jeremy Martin on being elected for his second term, and to our new Deputy Mayor, Councillor Sarah Rees.

Present at the meeting were also our newly elected and co-opted Councillors; Fiona Buckland, Thurstan Crockett, Mark Dobson, and Caroline & Rod Muskett. A very warm welcome to them all.
