We were told by the Boundary Commission and Cornwall Council that there would be consultation on the new Cornwall Council Electoral Divisions. However it seems that the only bodies being seriously consulted are Cornwall Councillors and certain town councils.
This map is one to be considered by Cornwall Council Boundary Review Panel, it recommends that Connor Downs on the north side of Turnpike Rd and Horsepool Rd be included in a division that would be in reality Hayle North and residents living on the south side of the road be incorporated into what would really be Hayle South.
Apart from a blatant front to democracy and honesty, there are implications that may follow from this obvious attempt to safeguard interests other than those of the residents of Connor Downs.
Please read the article in the next edition of the C D R A magazine, highlighting the dangers, also protest now before it’s too late, contact the Boundary Commission telling them you do not agree with this proposal.
