A team of coastguard rescuers have been called out to two suspicious ordinance incidents in as many days. Coastguards from Mevagissey were first alerted to a possible bomb after receiving a call from the town's harbour master that ordnance had been trawled up by local fishermen and left on the jetty in the picturesque coastal port. A lifeboat station team has thanked the public for its cooperation after holidaymakers and residents were asked to move en masse from a favourite south east Cornwall beach. Ten crew members on board a Fastnet yacht had to be rescued off the Isles of Scilly after their rudder broke down. The 39ft yacht was 77 nautical miles north west of the islands when it encountered troubles and its rudder failed.
