Dramatic scenes as fire takes hold in Penzance town centre
A fire broke out in an electricity substation in the early hours of Sunday just off Penzance's most historic street.
Firefighters battled the blaze for more than an hour in the early hours of the morning.
The fire broke out off Chapel Street, in a car park area between the Exchange Gallery and Anella in Princes Street.
Crews from Penzance and St Just used two breathing apparatus and two hosereels and awaited the arrival of Western Power to isolate the supply.

Yellow weather warning for Cornwall extended as torrential rain...
People in Cornwall are being told to prepare for the prospect of heavy rain and thunderstorms from Sunday lunchtime to Monday afternoon - with the Met Office issuing a yellow warning.
The warning is currently in force from 12pm Sunday until 4pm on Monday and it includes Cornwall. The warning had previously been up to 12pm on Monday.
However, forecasters said that the nature of such weather was 'hit and miss' and some areas would see little or no impact.

Devon and Cornwall Police issue warning after teenager suffers...
A 15-year-old boy has died after taking what is suspected to be the recreational drug MDMA at a youth disco.
Devon and Cornwall Police have now issued a warning in the wake of the tragedy.
The force said that it was informed on Saturday morning that the teenager had been admitted to North Devon District Hospital after taking the drug at an event in Ilfracombe on Friday.

Three vehicle accident causing delays on A30 Hayle bypass
A three vehicle accident has been causing some problems on the A30 Hayle bypass this evening with reports that some drivers are perfoming dangerous U turns to get out of the queues of traffic.
Emergency services were called to the scene just after 5pm and found three vehicles involved, one of which was "issuing smoke".
The road remains closed and a diversion is in place, but it is causing some heavy tailbacks.

Father receives superficial injuries after crane hits family in...
A father was the only one injured in an accident involving a crane in St Ives which also struck his partner and their three-year-old child in St Ives.
A police spokesman has now said the man received superficial injuries and although all three were taken to hospital, was in fact the only one to be hurt in the accident.
The crane hit the trio and then struck a wall, which collapsed, in the Ayr area of town just after 7pm on Friday. The Road was closed for part of the evening.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirm elderly man died following A39...
An elderly man has died following a serious accident on the A39 in Truro.
The 80 year old was taken to hospital following the
four-vehicle collision between Playing Place and Arch Hill on Friday at around 11am.
His condition was described at that time as life-threatening and police have now confirmed that he has since died.
He has not yet been named, but his next of kin have been informed.

Warnings issued after Porthleven School children are stalked by...
A Cornish school has contacted police after a number of distressed pupils reported being stalked by an "unidentified car".
Porthleven School took to social media to warn other schools and parents about the worrying report from some of their pupils.
"We have received reports this morning of an unidentified car slowing down and trying to engage in conversation with children walking to school," wrote a spokesperson on the school's Facebook page.

Sunbathers rescued by Looe lifeboat crew at Polperro after being...
People are being urged to ensure they know the tide times after two sunbathers at a beach in Polperro had to be rescued by a lifeboat crew.
The coastguard has issued the warning following the incident on Friday afternoon at around 2.30pm.
The pair had been enjoying the glorious weather when they realised they had been cut off and called the coastguards.

British Airways have cancelled all flights from London Gatwick and Heathrow because of computer problems. Flights up to 6pm today (Saturday) have been affected.
It affects domestic and international flights and frustrated passengers have complained of long queues at check-ins and said they have been unable to use the airline's website or app.
