Tributes have been paid to a landlord and "true gentleman" who passed away yesterday (July 14) on the eve of one of his pub's busiest days of the year. St Just Lafrowda Day celebration, for many, will not be the same following the news of the passing of The Commercial, Paul Woolcock.
Two ambulances and a Cornwall Air Ambulance could be seen in the centre of the town after Mr Woolcock, in his early fifties, was taken ill.

More than £10,000 raised for family of Saltash mum and son...
More than £10,000 has been raised for a Saltash family which was ripped apart in an accident which claimed the life or a mother and her son last week.
Laura Hopes, 32, and sons Alfie, six, and Tommy, four, were travelling along the A38 near Landrake on July 9 when they were involved in a five-car collision.
Laura and Alfie
were killed in the incident, as well as a 53-year-old man who has not been formally named.

Loose power cable causing A30 delays between Penzance and Hayle
Motorists have been left facing substantial queues on their way home from work this evening due to a loose power cable over the A30.
There are long tailbacks on the A30 eastbound at White Cross, between Long Rock and St Erth due to the cable blocking one lane.

The ceremony to open then much-anticipated stretch of the A30 at Temple was interrupted this morning by an irate farmer.
Dawn Gibson, of Outer Colvannick Farm, which is adjacent to the new A30, said she was angry with the way Cornwall Council and project leaders had treated her family.
She took her frustation out during the opening ceremony of the road, interrupting Rob Llewellyn of Highways England as he was giving a speech.
