The Care Quality Commission (CQC) scrutinises all providers of healthcare, including GPs, to ensure the highest standards are met and to highlight were care is falling bellow the mark.
The organisation awards four ratings - inadequate, requires improvement, good and outstanding.

A plan to charge motorists to park on the premises of a Charlestown pub has been met with disbelief from some angry locals.
The Rashleigh Arms was built in 1851 on the foundations of old clay cellars and was named after the creator of Charlestown Harbour, Charles Rashleigh.

MAIB report on Surprise sightseeing boat which ran aground off...
Details have been released of how a sightseeing trip almost ended in tragedy after a boat ran aground while trying to get close to seals basking on rocks.
The vessel, with 50 people on board, was holed by a submerged rock and passengers quickly donned their life jackets as the skipper made a 'mayday' call for help.

A group of travellers have caused further upset with residents in Newquay after leaving a trail of mess in their latest location.
Having left a car park on Mount Wise earlier this month, the group set up camp in another car park behind the Waterworld attraction at Trenance Park.
Although the travellers have since moved on once more, locals weren't impressed with the litter they left behind, which one resident said included "nappies, human faeces and cooked bones".

Forensic and police officers were called just after 8.50am on Wednesday morning (June 21) following the discovery at the bottom of some steps on New Street, leading towards a local car park.
