The police are appealing for witnesses after man died in a car crash on the A3058 at Summercourt near Newquay today. The emergency services were called just after 12.50pm to reports of a crash involving a single car. In just over a month's time the new, plastic, Jane Austen £10 note will be formally unveiled to mark the 200th anniversary of her death. The Bank of England announced their launch event on July 18 will be at Winchester Cathedral, with members of the public able to book tickets free here. The mother of a talented musician and bowler who jumped from cliffs at Hell's Mouth said she still cannot understand why her son took the decision to end his life, an inquest heard. The death toll from a fire which engulfed an apartment block in London has risen to 12 – although it may climb higher as the emergency services begin the difficult task of examining the smouldering remains.
