The Flora Day celebrations had a bit of drama as firefighters were called out to secure the roof of a shop along the procession route in Helston. The area around Sweet Pea Florist was cordoned off as the crews used a ladder to secure part of the roof amid fears it could fall into the street with huge crowds in the town.

Cornwall local election - what was the turnout?
According to voting figures for the 2017 Cornwall Council (CC) elections, voting saw a 5.05% increase compared with the last poll in 2013.
In Cornwall, an average of just 33% of residents headed to a voting booth in 2013 to elect their next councillors.
While this year, figures released at Carn Brea revealed that the average turnout this year was 39% - that might still seem low, but it's actually up by 5.05% in 2013.

Two alleged robbers who were said to have brandished a knife at staff working at Domino's Pizza in Falmouth before stealing £15 were arrested within 48 hours of the robbery.
Ben Bowdery, 36, and Rowhan Glenister, 19, from Truro, appeared before Bodmin Magistrates' Court.
